Ethical and Responsible Retail with Tiu Tabak
Show Notes

In this episode of The Do Good Business Podcast, we're deep-diving into ethical and responsible retail. We're joined by Tiu Tabak. Tiu worked in retail for years and was surrounded by hyper-consumerism, and waste.

She realized this mass consumption is detrimental not only to the environment but also to the livelihood of the workers that make these products - which are often manufactured in oppressive, unsafe, and unsustainable working conditions.

She knew there had to be a better, more intentional, and responsible way of doing things in the retail world, so Kinsfolk Shop was born.

In this episode, we're talking about:

  • Tiu’s background in retail and why she started Kinsfolk Shop
  • Prioritizing transparency and accountability in retail
  • How environmental protection and social justice issues are intertwined
  • Overcoming the fear of standing up for issues that matter to you
  • and more!

Kinsfolk Shop was started in 2018 and is a small online-only shop dedicated to useful and practical home goods. Products include kitchen gadgets and utensils, soaps and toiletries, cleaning tools, and home décor. Many of which are made in Canada. Their goal is to provide you with quality products that are ethically and responsibly made, and that also have a small ecological footprint.
